Chicago’s Leather Archives & Museum (LA&M) houses a treasure trove of kink, fetish, and BDSM history and culture in the United States. But deep within its basement sits Leslie Anderson (they/them), a conservator who studies a generation of Leathermen and Leatherwomen lost to AIDS–preserving the items these queer elders have left behind, as well as the stories and communities that live on with their memories.
